On behalf of the Bergenfield Board of Education, I am proud to invite you to review the Bergenfield Public School District's website. This "snapshot" of progress is provided by the Board of Education as a service to parents and interested community members to increase their knowledge and appreciation for the outstanding learning community of Bergenfield.
Standardized test scores alone cannot solely document the district's vast achievements or the essence of our children's daily experience. Numbers cannot even begin to measure the passion and dedication of our staff, the commitment and support of our community, or the individual personal effort expended by every student. Therefore, I personally invite you to continue to enjoy these successes firsthand through active participation in our school community.
We all agree that the heart of our school district is our students. To ensure that every child is nurtured, the Board of Education, administration, faculty, and support staff have developed and implemented a superior instructional program that is presented in a supportive, caring environment that promotes personal growth and achievement. During this past year, we implemented an alternative high school program and an academy for children with autism. These innovations demonstrate the district's commitment to meeting the needs of all children while remaining fiscally responsible.
Together, as a community, we have the power to assist students with increasing knowledge, skills and confidence, through a valuable education that transforms students beyond their own expectations. Yet, we all know that parents are the first teachers. Your contributions, and those of the community, can never be underestimated. When we combine students committed to learning, parents supporting education, and a faculty/staff uniting for common goals, we create this magical community called the "Bergenfield Schools." We have served many generations of Bergenfield students and are very proud of our "Tradition of Excellence."
To ensure that this legacy of excellence continues, the Bergenfield School District is committed to its vision and mission. We have established a Vision Team comprised of teachers, parents, and community members to ensure that we are progressing towards our district goals. These goals encompass increasing academic achievement, ensuring fiscal responsibility, updating and maintaining facilities, improving communication and public relations, and integrating technology into a well articulated K-12 curriculum. The Bergenfield administration and staff are working daily to achieve these goals as we strive to continue the district's legacy of excellence.
As Superintendent of Schools, it is my privilege to serve on behalf of the children, parents, grandparents, and residents of Bergenfield. I personally invite you to visit our schools.
